Dear Dave

This Story: Season 10, Episode 5
Overall: Story 54, Episode 60
Airdate: 1 Nov 2012
Written by Doug Naylor
Directed by Doug Naylor

Notes

  • The original plan for the final two episodes of the series was for a plot that would see the reintroduction of Kristine Kochanski. However, production problems meant the plan had to be ditched, and two new episodes were written at short notice.
  • Little more than half of this episode was filmed in front of a live studio audience.

#RedDwarfMarathon #RedDwarf Ep 60 - Dear Dave - 1 Nov 2012 1/2 We're playing the "Lister is depressed" story again. This time it manifests itself as him dealing with letters in a post pod from an ex & "hitting" on a vending machine. B story is funny watching Rimmer try to avoid being demoted to 3rd

#RedDwarfMarathon #RedDwarf Ep 60 - Dear Dave - 1 Nov 2012 2/2 tech, same as Lister. Letter from the ex says she's pregnant, which sets him off looking to find out. This feels a bit stretched out - could have done it in half the time. The OG plot around finding Kochanski would have been better IMO.
