Notes

• The first of a two part story, whose parts have individual episode titles.
• The mention of the Hur’q is a reference to the DS9 episode “The Sword of Kahless“.
• The first appearance of the Rigelians in any incarnation of Star Trek.
• “Section 31” appears here, although that exact nomenclature isn’t used.
• The events of the Arik Soong trilogy from earlier this season is referenced several times.
• The second (of three) appearances of Ada Maris as Captain Hernandez (of the NX-02).
• Dr Antaak was played by John Shuck – who is most well known for as the Klingon Ambassador in The Voyage Home & The Undiscovered Country.  He was also the Cardassian Park in DS9’s “The Maquis Pt I”, and ‘Chorus #2’ in Voyager’s “Muse“.
• Harris is played by Eric Pierpoint.  He was also Voval in TNG’s “Liaisons“, Sanders in DS9’s “For the Uniform“, the Klingon Kortar on DS9’s “Barge of the Dead”, and Shiraht in the episode “Rogue Planet“.
• The unnamed Klingon prisoner in the pre-title sequence was played by Marc Worden.  Worden is more well known for playing Worf’s son Alexander in two DS9 episodes – “Sons and Daughters” & “You Are Cordially Invited“.
• The second and final appearance of Seth MacFarlane as engineering officer Rivers.  The other appearance  was in “The Forgotten“.  Yes, THAT Seth McFarlane.
