- Troi & Geordi do not appear in the final episode.
- A lot of the lore of Kahless originated in cut dialogue from “Birthright Part II“. Worf references events in that episode as having affected his faith.
- In the original scripted version, when Kahless boards the Enterprise, he assumes that Deanna Troi was a “gift” for him. :)
- The “Kahless shrine” in Worf’s quarters is seen again the seventh season episode “Firstborn“.
- The status of a Klingon emperor has been brought up before (“Sins of the Father” & “Reunion“), but it wasn’t really crystalized until now. The timing of all this is brought up again in the DS9 episode “Soldiers of the Empire“.
- The final appearance of Gowron in TNG. His next appearance is in the DS9 episode “The House of Quark“.
- The Monastery of Boreth is revisited in the Star Trek Discovery episode “Through the Valley of Shadows“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 149 - Rightful Heir - 17 May 1993 2/2 himself as the Klingon leader, much to the chagrin of the Klingon establishment. Talks a lot about Klingon lore. The ending is a bit odd, with Kahless not being what we're told he is. Overall a good ep, though a few odd bits.
