Mission to Destiny

This Story: Season 1 Episode 7 (production code 1528)
B7 Overall: Episode 7
Airdate: 13 Feb 1978 (7:15 pm UK time)
Duration: 51:12
Filming Dates: 3-5 & 19-20 Jan 1978
Written by Terry Nation
Directed by Pennant Roberts

Notes

  • Terry Nation has said in interviews that this was his favorite episode of Series A.
  • This is the first story that doesn’t have something to do with the Federation.
  • Blake & Jenna mention a ship they pass as “Galaxy Class”. It has nothing to do with Star Trek: TNG obviously, but the reference made me giggle.
  • Pasco is played by John Leeson.  Leeson was the primary voice of K-9 in Doctor Who (and its connected universe stories).  He also appeared on screen in Doctor Who in the story “The Power of Kroll“.

#B7Marathon #Blakes7 Ep 7 - "Mission to Destiny" - 13 Feb 1978 1/2 This ep has noting to do with the Federation & was a story I didn't remember at all. They investigate a random ship they happened upon. I thought the incidental music was quite good here. It's a mystery as to why the ship they came

#B7Marathon #Blakes7 Ep 7 - "Mission to Destiny" - 13 Feb 1978 2/2 across was sabotaged. There's not much traditional action as it's a mystery, so lots of sneaking around and talking. Mostly a Cally ep. In the end, I quite liked this one - especially in that I had no memory of how the story ended.

This Blu-Ray cleanup work has produced some amazing stuff.
John Leeson (the voice of K-9) in this story.
