This Story: Season 4 Episode 3 (production code 172)
VOY Overall: Episode 71
Trek Overall: Story 499, Episode 527
Airdate: 17 Sep 1997
Written by Jeri Taylor

Notes
- Running fired torpedo count: 23 / Confirmed crew deaths since pilot: 13 (crew of 141 – departure of Kes).
- Two episodes in a row where Voyager loses a shuttlecraft. That makes six total now. Makes you wonder how many they’re supposed to have, as they likely can’t easily build more.
- This was supposed to be the fourth episode of the season, but was swapped positions with the next one. Not really sure why.
- Roxann Dawson was pregnant in real life when they filmed this. She was about 3 or 4 months along. Putting her inside a space suit must have been an interesting challenge.
- The Doctor does not appear in this episode.
- The first time we see the ejection of a warp core from a ship in the entire history of Star Trek – at least this close anyway.
- The Vulcan crew member Vorik reappears for the first time since “Blood Fever“.
- Alan Altshuld plays Lumas here. He was also a sandal maker in Voyager’s “False Profits“, Yrnac in TNG’s “Gambit Part I‘, & Pomet in TNG’s “Starship Mine“.
- Michael Krawic plays Rahmin here. He was also Samuels on DS9’s “The Maquis, Part I” and Stron on Enterprise’s “Carbon Creek“.

Most of this ep is her being pissy at nearly everyone due to the event. We also get a bit of Seven having problems adjusting

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 71 - Day of Honor - 17 Sep 1997 2/2 to the crew. In the end she and Tom end up in a "situation" which has them in spacesuits floating in space. We get a formal declaration of romantic interest there from both. The three plots here are well woven together.
