Natural Law

This Story: Season 7 Episode 22 (production code 268)
VOY Overall: Episode 168
Trek Overall: Story 589, Episode 624
Airdate: 2 May 2001
Story by James Kahn & Kenneth Biller
Teleplay by Jakes Kahn
Directed by Terry Windell

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 79. This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • This episode follows up (briefly) on the events of “Human Error” relative to a relationship between Seven & Chakotay.
  • Voyager loses a shuttle in this episode – the 11th overall.  They seem to be able to 3D print them given they wouldn’t have carried that many when they started the series.  :)
  • The Ledosian ambassador was played by Robert Curtis Brown.  He was also Sorad in the DS9 episode “Sanctuary“.
  • Kleg was played by Neil Vipond.  He was also Darok in the DS9 episode “Once More Unto the Breach“.
  • A Ventu healer was played by Paul Sandman.  He was an unnamed Klingon in “The Way of the Warrior” and two Klingons in video games.  One was unnamed in “Star Trek: Klingon” and the other was Toq in  “Star Trek: Klingon Academy”.
  • Another species number by the Borg is mentioned (312), but we don’t know who it is supposed to be.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Episode 168 - Natural Law - 2 May 2001 1/2 Seven & Chakotay are on a survey mission, and their shuttle gets destroyed. They have to rough it on a planet until they're rescued. Which involves overcoming communication barriers. Story wasn't what I remembered.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Episode 168 - Natural Law - 2 May 2001 2/2 The B plot was funny - Tom Paris has to take a driving test with a local government. The main plot did touch on Chakotay's Native American background, which has been absent of late. Small hint of Seven/Chakotay too.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
