A Fix With Sontarans

This Story: Not technically a Doctor Who episode
Overall: Series 11, Episode 12? (of Jim’ll Fix It)
Airdates: 23 Feb 1985
Written by Eric Saward
Directed by Marcus Mortimer

Notes

  • This aired on the same day as Episode 2 of The Two Doctors aired.
  • This was officially not a Doctor Who episode, but a 9 minute segment for the old “Jim’ll Fix it” show with Jimmy Savile.  Given what happened with him, when it was released on Blu-Ray in 2022, his parts of the video were edited out. The original version was previously available on the old 2011 DVD version, which was released before all the shit hit the fan with Savile.

A fun little extra produced as a segment for the old Jim'll Fix It show. It was filmed during production of the Two Doctors, & involves a small clone of the Sixth Doctor, Gareth Jenkins. pic.twitter.com/qUoLSKJpEu

Set solely in console room, It has @JFMouthonLegs paired with 6, which I wish we got to see more of. The original had Jimmy Saville, which given what happened with him has been removed. pic.twitter.com/92bZdZfUs7

Always found it amusing that the leader of the Sontarans was seemingly named after show producer John Nathan-Turner.
A shot from the original version of the segment.
