Notes

  • The first appearance for Marc Alaimo in any incarnation of Star Trek. He was most famous for playing Gul Dukat, the primary villain in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. His appearance in this episode is uncredited.
  • The second appearance of Colm Meaney, after not appearing since Encounter at Farpoint. At this point his character is unnamed, but is later retconned to be the character he’s known for – Miles O’Brien.
  • The only episode with Tasha Yar in full dress uniform.
  • The first episode of Star Trek directed by Cliff Bole.  Bole would direct a total of 25 episodes of Next Generation as well as 7 Deep Space Nine episodes, and 10 episodes of Star Trek Voyager. His most well known work was “The Best of Both Worlds”.
  • A model of of the original series shuttlecraft is seen in a scene towards the end of the episode behind Counselor Troi.
