Masterchef

This Story: Series 2 Episode 5
Airdate: 13 Oct 1994
Written by Peter Tilbury
Directed John Birkin

Notes

  • After last episode was written by someone other than Peter Tilbury (Geoff Deane), we’re back to Peter Tilbury who will write this and the remaining two episodes of Series 2.
  • One of the guest stars in this episode is Mark Williams.  He played Olaf Peterson in the first two series of Red Dwarf.  He was also Rory’s father Brian in Matt Smith’s era of Doctor Who.
  • This is the final episode for Ian McNeice as Gustave Laroche.  The next time the character is seen (Season 3 premiere), he’s played by a different actor.

In this one, Everton actually manages to make a good, popular dish that becomes a big deal. It goes to his head, and the main thrust is how Gareth deals with that. This isn't a terribly complex plot, what I said above is the pic.twitter.com/YFYsblsWjP

bulk of it. Some good shouting by Gareth this episode, which has been missing this series. The attempt to bring down Everton's ego at the end is pretty darned amusing. I actually had forgotten the ending until it happened. pic.twitter.com/LAzurohk7N
