Yesterday’s Enterprise

This Story: Season 3 Episode 15 (production code 163)
TNG Overall: Episode 63
Trek Overall: Story 163, Episode 165
Airdate: 19 Feb 1990
Story by Trent Christopher Ganino & Eric A. Stillwell
Teleplay by Ira Steven Behr, Richard Manning, Hans Beimler, & Ronald D. Moore
Directed by David Carson

Notes

  • This episode establishes prune juice as a favorite drink of the Klingons – “A warrior’s drink!”
  • The first episode with newly filmed footage with Denise Crosby as Tasha Yar since the character’s death in Season 1’s “Skin of Evil“.
  • The only appearance (as of this writing in Nov 2024) of USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C.
  • The last episode to feature all of the original cast that appeared in Encounter at Farpoint.
  • There was a book released by Eric A. Stillwell about the making of this episode – it appears to be out of print, however.
  • A planet mentioned in this episode is Archer IV.  A display in the Enterprise episode “In a Mirror, Darkly Part II” established that this planet was named after Jonathan Archer.  The planet was visited in that series in its episode “Strange New World“.
  • The Vulcan Dr. Selar is mentioned in the episode, but not seen.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 63 - Yesterday's Enterprise - 19 Feb 1990 1/3 One of the top episodes of the series overall. The Enterprise-C comes forward in time through a rift and alters history where the Federation is at war with the Klingons and Tasha Yar is alive. It's an absolutely KILLER

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 63 - Yesterday's Enterprise - 19 Feb 1990 2/3 episode - top notch shit from top to bottom. Due to an accident with 1701-C's captain, alt universe Tasha goes back with the ship and restores the timeline, but the path to get there is one of the most enjoyable TNG

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 63 - Yesterday's Enterprise - 19 Feb 1990 3/3 episodes there is. This gave Denise Crosby a good exit for Tasha Yar unlike the original one which was unsatisfying. I'm a sucker for a good time travel / alt universe story. Yar/Crosby deserved more stories like this.
