Rascals

This Story: Season 6 Episode 7 (production code 233)
TNG Overall: Episode 133
Trek Overall: Story 229, Episode 235
Airdate: 2 Nov 1992
Story by Ward Botsford, Diana Dry Botsford, & Michael Piller
Teleplay by Alison Hock
Directed by Adam Nimoy

Notes

  • Directed by the son of TOS era actor, Leonard Nimoy.
  • Some footage of birds of prey were reused from “Yesterday’s Enterprise“.
  • The only time we see Molly O’Brien played by Hana Hatae. She played the character during all of Deep Space Nine’s time, but on TNG, the character was played by two twins (as babies) earlier.  After this, Miles, Keiko, & Molly all transfer over to Deep Space Nine as that show started shortly after this.
  • Mike Gomez & Tracey Walter appeared together as different (unnamed) Ferengi in “The Last Outpost“.  Synder also played a third Ferengi in “The Perfect Mate“.
  • Young Picard is played by David Birkin.  Birkin also played Picard’s nephew René in the episode “Family“.
  • Young Guinan was played by Isis J. Jones, who also played a young version of Whoopi Goldberg’s character in the movie “Sister Act“.
  • This episode is referenced in the Deep Space Nine episode “Bar Association“.
  • Admin note: This episode was actually posted on 29 Jan despite being dated on 28 Jan – I got busy on the 28th, and doubled up on the 29th to get back on schedule.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek TNG Ep 132 - Rascals - 2 Nov 1992 Never liked this ep then, don't like it now. A landing team gets converted to children by transporter, but retain their adult minds. Additionally, the Enterprise is taken over by a couple of Ferengi way too easily. Very little I liked.
