Fury

This Story: Season 6 Episode 23 (production code 241)
VOY Overall: Episode 143
Trek Overall: Story 567, Episode 599
Airdate: 3 May 2000
Story by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga
Teleplay by Bryan Fuller & Michael Taylor
Directed by John Bruno

Notes

  • Running fired torpedo count: 66 (3 this episode, all in past timelines).  This contradicts the hard limit set in “The Cloud” of 38.
  • Features the return of Jennifer Lien as Kes – and also her final appearance in any incarnation of Star Trek.
  • Also has the return of Nancy Hower as Samantha Wildman in 45 odd episodes, despite the character’s daughter being in several. It is also Hower’s final appearance in the series.
  • Additionally, it is the final time the Vidiians appear in the series in any capacity.
  • The only time that Seven & Kes have any dialogue with each other – in the first two episodes of Season 4, they were in scenes together, but never spoke.
  • The ship Kes is in at the start of the episode uses the same set used for the bridge of the time ship in the episode “Future’s End” and in “Retrospect“.
  • This episode contradicts established facts known about Tuvok’s age, claiming he’s not yet 100 years old, when prior episodes clearly stated he was past that milestone.
  • Vaughn Armstrong is in this episode.  He’s modern Trek royalty with a metric ton of roles. Will list them all here: Was the Klingon Capt Korris in TNG’s “Heart of Glory” & “Shades of Gray“, the Cardassian Gul Danar in DS9’s “Past Prologue“, the Romulan Telek R’Mor in Voyager’s “Eye of the Needle“, the Cardassian Seskal in DS9’s “When it Rains….” & “The Dogs of War“, Two of Nine & Lansor in Voyager’s “Survival Instinct“, a Vidiian Captain in “Fury“, an Alpha Hirogen in “Flesh and Blood“, the Klingon Korath in the Voyager finale, “Endgame“.  He also did a lot on Enterprise.  He was Admiral Forrest in 14 different episodes of that show.  He was also a Klingon Captain in “Sleeping Dogs“, a Kreetassan Captain in “Vox Sola” & “A Night in Sickbay“, plus the mirror version of Forrest in “In a Mirror Darkly“.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 143 - Fury - 3 May 2000 1/2 Kes returns. When this was new, I didn't care for it, because the bulk of this ep has Kes behaving differently than she did before, it almost didn't feel like the same character. This time around I enjoyed it more, because I think I

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Voyager Ep 143 - Fury - 3 May 2000 2/2 overlooked the time jumping this story has - something I generally go for. I totally forgot about the Tuvok part of this. The last time we see the Kes (& the Vidiians). I enjoyed this FAR more than before - a huge turnaround for me.

My prior physical copies of Star Trek: Voyager looked this way.
